Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse:Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Luke 12:6-7
6 Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? And not one of them is forgotten before God. 7 Why, even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not; you are of more value than many sparrows.
Readings: Psalm 77-78 Romans 10
His Reward
Hallowing God's name is not knowing how great He is. Hallowing God's name is knowing that we will never grasp, on this earth, how very great He is because, if we are seeing and hearing Him, we learn greater things of Him everyday. Hallowing God's name is looking for and expecting to learn more of His greatness everyday.
Isaiah 40:10
10 See, the Sovereign Lord comes with power,
and he rules with a mighty arm.
See, his reward is with him,
and his recompense accompanies him.
Why would we look elsewhere? God comes in power and He is all power-all powerful.
He rules everything. He runs everything. Nothing in this earth moves unless God moves it. Nothing happens unless God allows it or makes it happen.
Everything is in God and we are His temple. His reward-our reward is with Him-our reward is Him.
The word 'recompense' means gifts, wages, work...are with Him.
God comes with His grace and mercy in His love. Why would we want to escape Him-to leave Him for a moment of sin?
But we do...God comes also with His forgiveness in Jesus bought with His blood.
Hallow His name. God-Himself-He is our reward.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
You, oh great God, are my reward-my life-my joy and my strength. Your kingdom cries out Your greatness and mercy. Only You have what I need for today-cover me with this bread. Forgive my sinful weakness. Open my eyes to the needs around me.
Everlasting Father and friend,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
