Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: Romans 12:10
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
Memory verse: Psalm 90:14
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
Today's reading: 1 CHRONICLES 28-29 JOHN 9:24-41
He Worshipped Him
The Jewish religious leaders in the day of Jesus had a strangle hold on the people. They did all in their powers to make every person do exactly as they dictated-to make people do what they wanted. From our view, it is easy to see the mistake. People should be free to do as God leads them and not as man dictates.
The man born blind in John 9 could not be contained. When the Jewish leaders asked him about Jesus, it was all very simple to Him. He said, “Now that is remarkable! You don’t know where he comes from, yet he opened my eyes. 31 We know that God does not listen to sinners. He listens to the godly person who does his will. 32 Nobody has ever heard of opening the eyes of a man born blind. 33 If this man were not from God, he could do nothing.”
The Jewish leaders threw this man out. Jesus found him and this is what happened.35 Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said, “Do you believe in the Son of Man?”
36 “Who is he, sir?” the man asked. “Tell me so that I may believe in him.” 37 Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.” 38 Then the man said, “Lord, I believe,” and he worshiped him.
Everyday, if given the chance, Jesus will open your eyes-our eyes-to something new. Bits of truth that fit with the rest of God's glorious life are imparted to us in His word and in prayer-in the lives of others around us who listen and see Jesus for who He really is-God's Son who loves us more than we can grasp.
The word has just shown us that God listens to the Godly who do His will, John 9:31.
His will...not ours...endeavor to follow with all your heart...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me, Lord God, for letting this wicked world get in the way of my seeing the way you want me to. Satisfy me as I obey.
Glorious Father,
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
