He Is The Lord Your God

Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the
truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and
just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all
unrighteousness.
Verse of the day: Deuteronomy 13:4 “It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.”
Today’s reading: Isaiah 34-36 Colossians 2
Reason with God on this(meditate) :
The wisdom of God has ordained a way for the love of God to deliver us from the wrath of God without compromising the justice of God.
He is the Lord Your God
Deuteronomy 13:4 “It is the Lord your God you must follow, and him you must revere. Keep his commands and obey him; serve him and hold fast to him.”
Our verse of the day has so much in it that we simply must dig into it.
“It is the Lord your God”- The Hebrew actually translates,
“After the Lord Your God you must walk”-God goes before us(Psalm 139:5) always. But we must make a choice to always be aware that God never leaves us(Deuteronomy 31:8)-to be conscious of The Lord.
“And Him you must revere”(and Him you shall fear). Fear is the beginning of wisdom(Proverbs 9:10) and then this wisdom fills us with respect and honor and praise for God.
“Keep His commands and hear His voice”. We can know all of God’s commands but we must listen to the Holy Spirit to truly follow God’s heart.
“Him you must serve” No one chooses to be a servant without loving their master with all they are made of-the more you learn of your Master, the more you love Him.
From the Hebrew, “to Him you shall hold fast”. Have you seen a video of rock climbers? Their lives depend on their grip-on their understanding of and never forgetting the basics of ‘holding fast’.
“And all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank from the spiritual Rock that followed them, and the Rock was Christ.”
He is the Lord our God.
Talk to God about all this. Tell Him you want this to be your full life.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Only you in Your glory can I follow. Teach me the wisdom of Your kingdom. Give me what I need today to serve and obey and cling as You teach. Lead me away from evil.
Father of the giving heart,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
