Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Psalm 121:7-8
7 The Lord will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life.8 The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time forth and forevermore.
Today’s Reading: Esther 6-8 Acts 6
Have Faith In God-Not Faith In Faith
Mark 11:22 “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. 23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24 Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”
This is not the power of positive thinking. This is not having faith in faith. The first thing Jesus says is have faith in God. In fact, this is another command of Christ.
So, anytime you read Jesus talking about having faith, hear like this, for example from above, “...believe(God) that you have received it.”
Don’t just believe it because you have ‘named it and claimed it’. Believe because your faith is in God and you have asked in the name of Christ Jesus.
Believe God-believe in God in Christ-pray in the Spirit(Ephesians 6:18).
Nowhere in scripture will you find Jesus say to pray on your own power or to trust your own faith.
If our faith is in our own conscious mind and not in God in Christ, God knows the truth.
If your faith is weak, tell God the truth-He knows it already and will hear the truthful servant and child.
Then pray as the father of the child with the unclean spirit prayed, “Lord, I believe, help my unbelief!”(Mark 9:23-25)
Pray like the disciples in Luke 17:5, The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
The Lord God knows all our weaknesses. Confess your weak faith and ask for greater faith and then have faith in God and make your request known to Him who already knows.
...because He loves us...He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Make Your name greater to me and all around me. Let me know of Your kingdom and increase my faith for today. Forgive me for trusting my own weakness. Lead me away from evil.
Holy, Holy God and Father,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
