Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verses of the day-Acts 4:10
10 let it be known to all of you and to all the people of Israel that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead—by him this man is standing before you well... 12 And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
Today’s reading: Deuteronomy 25-27 Mark 14:27-53
Hard Times Of The Soul
How do you go through a test of faith? It is a hard thing and One lady calls it the dark night of the soul. Hers was a questioning of her beliefs-literally. She went through
periods of wondering if God was really there--if God would be concerned with just one person. That sounds like questions all of us have.
It is not a sin to ask why. Jesus asked why on the cross. But when we entertain thoughts and questions of the validity of our faith, we cross lines that have lasting consequences.
Just stop and think...
Think about how real God has been at times in your life.
Think about Romans 8:28-29. Read it over and over.
28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29 For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. 30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.
Do you love Him? Ask Him to make it a reality in your life and he will.
God will make you the image of Christ-little by little. I need some more of that--how about you? Ask God and He will make it happen. The lines you have crossed will be forgiven in an instant and He will turn this into confidence.
You have all the faith you will ever need. Read it--
Ephesians 2:8&9- “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast. 10 For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
The faith is a gift as well as the grace. Your faith--the faith God has given. It is there waiting to be used like a storehouse of life.
With God, it is all about you and spending time with you--did you really hear that?
Folks, please, go back to the Bible--the scripture--it never, ever fails. In all your lives there is one thing that has never changed-that is God's word and His love for you.
You are loved as much as anyone else in this world and He has never changed that and never will.
You are at the center of His thoughts.
...because He loves you...
Father in Heaven,
Teach me to hallow Your name and Your kingdom. Let me realize the reality of the faith you have given me. Forgive me my doubting and allowing fear to take hold of me. Deliver me from evil.
Mighty teacher and greatest friend,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
