Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: John 6:35

35 Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst.”

Today’s reading: Ezekiel 45-46 1 John 2

Godly Wisdom

Before we can explain the love of our true God or any truth of our God to an adult, we need to sit down and ask God how we would explain this to a child.

That is why for today I want us to read this passage from James 3 from the International Children’s Bible:

13 Is there anyone among you who is truly wise and understanding? Then he should show his wisdom by living right. He should do good things without being proud. A wise person does not brag. 14 But if you are selfish and have bitter jealousy in your hearts, you have no reason to brag. Your bragging is a lie that hides the truth. 15 That kind of “wisdom” does not come from God. That “wisdom” comes from the world. It is not spiritual. It is from the devil. 16 Where there is jealousy and selfishness, there will be confusion and every kind of evil. 17 But the wisdom that comes from God is like this: First, it is pure. Then it is also peaceful, gentle, and easy to please. This wisdom is always ready to help those who are troubled and to do good for others. This wisdom is always fair and honest. 18 When people work for peace in a peaceful way, they receive the good result of their right living.”

This is how you explain Godly wisdom to a child. But the truth is, before we can explain wisdom to anyone, we must explain it to ourselves and ask this question:

By God’s standard in James, chapter 3, am I wise? What evidence of Godly wisdom is shown in my life?”

Before we can actually define wisdom(or anything else of God’s character) to someone else, we must be able to speak from experience.

We need experience with the truth. Jesus said, “I am the truth”. We must be able to share the peace of God with the world from our experience of God’s peace in us. This comes from living in Him-walking in Him-walking in the Spirit of truth.

Tell God you are sorry for not seeking Him enough. And then tell Him you want to speak His word and love and wisdom from your own experience with Him.

...because He loves you, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all names. I want desire for your kingdom’s obedience in my heart. Give me today Your bread for my obedience and the will to use it. Forgive me for my shallow attitude. Deliver me from evil.

God of wisdom,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
