Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, load me with desire to seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your insight to righteousness. Hold my attention constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day- Jeremiah 32:17—“Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.”

Today’s reading:  Psalm 4-6 Acts 17:16-34

God’s Special Possession

Sometimes it seems so confusing. How do we obey God’s word and not worry? We talked about that a few days back.

To be totally humble and love ourselves(keeping ego out of our thoughts) so we can love our neighbor takes divine control learned in much time with the Lord.

But this is the same with all of Jesus commands-all divine commands old testament and new. This is our basic life in Christ-yes, it should go without saying but it must be said. More importantly, it must be heard.

We must hear God’s Spirit of Truth. Open our ‘ears’ and listen. If we can’t hear these things over and over as ‘fresh commands', it means we are not experiencing God’s mercy which is new every morning. Lamentations 3:22,23

Jesus tells us to live our lives as unworthy servants. Unworthy of what? A peace that passes all earthly understanding that guards our hearts and minds(Philippians 4:7).’

The God-given right to be called ‘child of God’.

“But to all who did receive Him, to those who believed in His name, He gave the right to become children of God—children born not of blood, nor of the desire or will of man, but born of God.“(John 1:12,13)

Unworthy but livin through Him-

1 John 4:9

“This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.” – 1 John 4:9

Unworthy to be filled with God’s love and all His fullness-

“...and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” – Ephesians 3:18-19

Unworthy but chosen-

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” – 1 Peter 2:9

This must mean that we live as unworthy and all the time knowing that in Christ, God says we are because of Christ.

Unworthy to live a worthy life-

“Encouraging, comforting and urging you to live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his kingdom and glory.” – 1 Thessalonians 2:12

Tell God that you want to have the attitude of unworthiness while you live a life worthy of Him and His greatness.

...because He loves us...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Thank you for calling me and making me worthy in Christ to hallow Your name. Thank You for allowing me to seek Your kingdom in Christ. Forgive me for letting my ego go unchecked. Lead me away from ‘old-self’ pride.

All wise and gracious Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
