God's Good Pleasure

Sunday, ‎July ‎18, ‎2021

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Psalm 119:7

I will praise You with uprightness of heart, When I learn Your righteous judgments.

Memory of the month:  Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be  satisfied.

Today's reading: PSALM 20-22 ACTS 21:1-17

God's Good pleasure

Philippians 2:13 -for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.

Psalm 149:4-For the LORD takes pleasure in His people;

Proverbs 11:1-A false balance is an abomination to the LORD, But a just weight is His delight.

Proverbs 11:20-The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, But the blameless in their walk are His delight.

Proverbs 12:22-Lying lips are an abomination to the LORD, But those who deal faithfully are His delight.

The Lord takes pleasure in us because He created us and loves us.

There are three things in these scriptures: justice, (being just), blameless heart, truth.

How do we find ourselves to be truthful, just, and blameless? We do not just walk into it or awaken one day and this is our reality. We must seek to know God's heart to be just and true.

The more time we spend with God, the more we come to love God. The more we love God, the more we please Him with our truth and justice-the more blameless our hearts become.

The more time you spend in God's word, the more time you spend with God.

The more time you spend with God the greater His pleasure.

Our joy is a by-product, if you will, of this-not the ends-God's pleasure and glory are the end-

When you truly love someone, you want their joy to be full-if you see that---your joy becomes more complete.

John 15:11 ►I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.

John 16:24 ►Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, and your joy will be complete.

1 John 1:4-…3We proclaim to you what we have seen and heard, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And this fellowship of ours is with the Father and with His Son, Jesus Christ. 4We write these things so that our joy may be complete. 5And this is the message we have heard from Him and announce to you: God is light, and in Him there is no darkness at all.

If we love God we will want His joy to be full...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

I want to love You with all that I am-forgive my laziness in this and make it my hearts greatest desire. I want to be pleasing to You, oh God.

Great God of love and loving!

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
