16 “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.”

God Is Speaking

I have heard some questions over the years that still come up and I want us to talk about hearing God speak. The world of unbelief will always taunt us about ‘hearing God speak’ and we have heard it so much that the enemy has us believing we are crazy if we think we can hear the voice of God.

First let me say that God has done all He can to restore fellowship with us. He has given His son, Christ Jesus, so we could be reunited with Him.(The enemy says this is crazy.)

God has given us His Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth.

Jesus said, “But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will not speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” (John 16:13)

Some really worry that they don’t hear God speak. What does God sound like when he speaks?

Our verse of the day says that all scripture-our Bible-is breathed out by God.

Hebrews 4:12 says, ”For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it pierces even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow. It judges the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

The Holy Spirit lives within each of us believers-the promise of Christ-fact. The Word of God is breathed by God and is alive-fact.

Every time we hear or we read the word of God, we are hearing God’s live voice speak.

Relax-God has done all He has done so you could know that He is right here with you/us-speaking and teaching and leading and yes, filling our minds and emotions with righteous thoughts. He tells us when we are wrong and leads us to repent. He speaks in love and peace to satisfy our souls.

God speaks all the time.

Isaiah 55:2 “Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy?Listen diligently to me, and eat what is good, 3 Incline your ear, and come to me; hear, that your soul may live;”

Please stop worrying about hearing God and simply listen. He loves you and has done all so you can hear Him.

...because He loves us, His voice is inside us…

Father in Heaven,

Great is Your name and glorious is Your kingdom. Fill me with desire to obey you as You are obeyed in Heaven. Give me what You know I need today and the righteous desire to use it. Forgive me for worry. Deliver me from evil.

Great God of still small voice,
