Give No Vent

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   So he answered and said to me: "This is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel: 'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,' says the Lord of hosts." —Zechariah 4:6

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: EXODUS 39-40 MATTHEW 23:23-39

Give No Vent

Proverbs 29:-11 Fools give full vent to their rage, but the wise bring calm in the end.

Nothing can damage a person's name like showing a fit of rage in a group of people. By our 'name' we are trusted or we are not. When we speak for Christ, will people listen to us or will they turn a deaf ear?

Proverbs 17:27 ►The one who has knowledge uses words with restraint, and whoever has understanding is even-tempered.

Have you ever given full vent to your rage? When was the last time? Do you remember the people who were around you?

2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

The enemy knows the power God has given us and he knows if he can push us to the edge and get us to the point where we fully vent our anger, that our ability to speak for Christ has been damaged.

We may not have been given a timid spirit, but gentleness is a fruit of the Spirit(Galatians 5:22,23). The love of God's heart governs the 'self-control'(discipline). Venting anger shows that we have allowed our harsh feelings to cast off our wisdom of the very love of God.

Humble yourself under God's hand. Find His humility and gentleness-this is not timidity. Speak truth under control in love or speak not...

God's power enables us to speak truth calmly with His power or hold our tongues with patient control.

Yes, it is possible and the Holy Spirit will teach us His wisdom when we stop and humble ourselves and listen and obey.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me my bad choices of loss of control. Help me to reconcile with those I have hurt with my tongue. Teach me humility.

Gentle and powerful God,

In the name of Christ Jesus

Amen
