Get Busy

Good Morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: 2 Corinthians 5:19-20 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Today's reading: ISAIAH 26-27 PHILIPPIANS 2
Confess and Get Busy
I want to answer a most honest and sincere note I received from a friend on his thoughts of our daily struggle.
You are absolutely right. It is a fight against sin everyday. Paul fought it everyday, no doubt, from what he says in Romans, chapter 7. The Bible says:
"If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us." 1 John 1:10
You are right, people lie about it all the time. We lie to ourselves and try to hide it and we build a wall of sin between us and God so much that we become numb during the activities of life. But-and here is the rub-waking up or being alone and quiet-unconfessed sin finds us like a thorny crown of guilt and so back to the 'busy-ness' of numbing ourselves with activity.
A person washed in the blood of Christ should not live this way, indeed, has no right to live this way, so, why do we?
In Ephesians 5, Paul writes:13 But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for everything that is illuminated becomes a light itself. 14 So it is said: “Wake up, O sleeper, rise up from the dead, and Christ will shine on you. 15 Pay careful attention, then, to how you walk, not as unwise but as wise,…
Wake up! Be wise! Christ shines and our sin is always before us-so live in humility before Him. Live with a heart that rushes to confess and hear God say, "It is forgotten-I will remember this no more".
Hebrews 8:12 ►For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more."
The strongest believers will admit that they struggle with sin everyday. These are also the most humble of believers. They may not have their names on buildings or books or boards(or their names may very well be in these places) but they hear God's voice in their hearts continually because, for one thing, they are ready to admit when they are wrong. They are never the smartest one in the room because they know God is there...
Life does not have to be as hard as we make it but we sure try. Jesus did not hang on a cross so we could carry a sack of guilt like punishment. No, Jesus did this so we could be free from guilt and sin.
Keep praying for the Lord to 'deliver us from evil' and to 'lead us away from temptation' and believe that He will eventually complete us.
"being confident of this, that He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus." Philippians 1:6, NIV
Philippians 2:13 ►for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.
Don't let sin bog you down. That is just what the enemy wants.
Galatians 5:1
For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.
Confess and get busy obeying-repeat-repeat...
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
I confess I try to hide my sin from time to time, Grant me the strength to face you everytime I fall.
Merciful God and kind Father!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
