Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: Titus 2:2

2 “Older men are to be sober-minded, dignified, self-controlled, sound in faith, in love, and in steadfastness.”

Today’s reading: Proverbs 6-7, 2 Corinthians 2

Fullness Of Joy

Jesus said that loving God with all our heart and our soul and all of our mind(Matthew 22:37) is the first and greatest commandment. How do we get from wherever we are to the place where we obey this commandment. This is assuming we are born of God’s Spirit and are secure in Christ. If you have sincerely given your life to God in Christ, you are secure in Him whether you feel it or not. Many have doubts that just won’t leave them alone and this is the enemy attacking relentlessly.

So, our discipline for Christ must be relentless.

The more we understand loving God and pour our energies into this, the less our insecurities bother us.

We must invest all our energy of self love-all our striving for happiness, love, security, success-on focusing on God until His satisfaction fills us. Continue praying Psalm 90:14:

Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love so that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.”

What I am about to say may sound selfish but I believe it is not. I think we need to look closely at this verse. It says, “Satisfy us”. But I think we should start praying, “Satisfy me”.

Why? We cannot control the collective ‘us’. We can pray to God for ‘us’, yes, but until ‘I’ am where I should be before God and love what God is doing in me, I cannot share joy and knowledge I do not have.

We should always pray for ‘us’-please don’t get me wrong. But we have to practice Godly ‘self care’ before we can sincerely and truthfully care for ‘us’.

This means that all of us, from those who consider themselves the greatest to those who consider themselves the least-all have much work to do before the throne of God.

The answer is that we continue to do the works before us with the degree of love we experience-with the love we do have to share. And if we continue seeking God in our personal disciplines, our wisdom and understanding increases because our love for God grows-our joy in Christ grows and becomes more clear everyday. More and more we understand how we can truthfully pray, “Satisfy us”-in loving God more and more and experiencing His love and joy, the more we truthfully want God to satisfy all of ‘us’-we more deeply want the people around us to know this life and we want this great life for the lost and for our enemies.

God is most greatly praised and when we are most satisfied in Him. When we are most satisfied in Him, His message through us is most greatly communicated to this lost world.

We all have much work to do-work on ourselves in His presence-and much work to do in the world we live in.

Tell God you are ready to feel and do all He has for you.

Jesus said, “I have told you these things so that My joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.”(John 15:11)

Father in Heaven,

Your name is all my joy. Your kingdom is here. Increase my desire to obey You. Give me today the clarity I need to stay conscious of You, Spirit of Truth. Forgive me for not yielding my heart. Lead me away from evil.

Father of all of us,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen

ree
