Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name...

Verse of the Day: John 10:9-10

9 I am the door. If anyone enters by me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Today's reading: Daniel 3-4 1 John 5

From Ancient Days

Micah 5:2

2  3 But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are too little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose coming forth is from of old, from ancient days.

This is one of the prophecies we look to to know that Jesus is our Messiah.

I read this and think of John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.

From ancient days until now and until the end of time, we celebrate the coming of Christ Jesus-the one from ancient times. The world of faith expected Him. He came and many rejected but many received Him and now the world celebrates the child, Christ Jesus-the child from ancient times.

We celebrate His coming and anticipate His second coming.

Acts 1:10-11

They were looking intently up into the sky as he was going, when suddenly two men dressed in white stood beside them. “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven.”

Advent not only celebrates the birth of Christ Jesus, but also looks forward to His return. There is so much energy in our Lord. Look forward. Keep looking forward!

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is greater than all ages. Grant me insight into Your kingdom and bread today to understand more and more. Forgive me for losing sight of Your ancient truths. Lead me away from doubt.

Amazing God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
