Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your limitless love in Christ and endless power. Build my trust and my passion. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Ephesians 2:6 “And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus.”
Verse of the day: 1 Peter 1:18-19
18 “knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot.”
Daily Reading: 2 Samuel 19-20 Luke 18:1-23
Forgiveness
The Lord Jesus hung on the cross and prayed, “Father forgive them, they know not what they do.”(Luke 23:34)
To not forgive-how many of us have held grudges or still hold something against someone? How long has it been?
We must look at how very serious this is. Love is the opposite of hate. That is indisputable. Play what word-games one will but hate is the opposite of love.
1 Corinthians 13:5 says, “...it(love) keeps no record of wrongs...”
If loves keeps no record of wrongs then holding a grudge is hate-holding something against someone is hate. We must call it what it is and deal with the plank in our own eye…
Proverbs 10:18 ESV
The one who conceals hatred has lying lips, and whoever utters slander is a fool.
“You shall not hate your brother in your heart... You shall not take vengeance or bear a grudge against the sons of your own people…”
Now, this is not a joyful subject-it is misery-revealing subject. It reveals concealed misery in the hearts of so many whose hearts, they say, belong to Jesus.
The time has come for us-any and all of us who say we belong to Jesus-to cast this anxiety upon the Lord(1 Peter 5:6&7)-to humble ourselves under God’s hand and confess our hard feelings and grudges and call them what they are-hate-sin, plain and simple truth.
John 15:11-(Jesus said) “I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete.”
John 14:26-(Jesus said) “But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
Get in front of God and wake up and be God-conscious and see your heart and what you hide there and tell God the truth and forgive so you will be forgiven.
Matthew 6:15- “But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.”
The joy of Christ will never be complete In us if we do not forgive.
But, when we let it go and give it God, we are on our way to being full of a peace that defies explanation.
Psalm 16:11- “You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.“
Find His presence-grasp His right hand.
...because He loves us… He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. I want to be in Your presence and feel Your pleasure at Your right hand. Forgive me for lying to myself and to You. Lead me away from hate.
God of joyful fullness and divine pleasures,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
