Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse:Jeremiah 15:19 ESV

Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”

Verse of the day: Colossians 2:9-10

9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.

Follow Me

This is our last day on humbling ourselves as Jesus commanded but we must always be digging deeper into personal humility before God and man.

Jesus said, “He must increase; I must decrease.  (John 3:30)

Then Jesus said to all of them, “If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.“(Luke 9:23)

The day we look into the mirror and say, “I am there-I am finally humble”-is the day we are not at all.

Humility is when we long for God to be everything to us and to the world around us-when self is full of Him alone. It is when we are most satisfied with Him that He is most glorified in us.

Self denial and the death of our flesh is only part of it. The most important part of Luke 9:23 is the last two words: “Follow me.” It must be our aim.

Pride in our crucifixion and self denial is death to righteous humility. Righteous humility can only be so when the only pride we have is in God in Christ. This happens only when we truly “follow Him”.

Tell God that you are tired of being ‘the object’ of your life and that you want Him to be Master and Lord-that you want to serve in righteous humility.

Tell God that you want to be so satisfied in Him that your life is showing how great He is.

Satisfy us in the morning with Your steadfast love that we may rejoice all our days”.(Psalm 90:14)

That we may rejoice in You, our God, always.

...because He loves us…He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

I ask that You make Your name mean everything to me. Show me Your kingdom and how to live obediently. Fill my heart with joy that I will praise You. Forgive me for putting myself first. Lead me away from wicked pride.

God of grace and mercy,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
