Follow God's Heart

Tuesday, February 27, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Prov. 3 Verses 5 to 6

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: NUMBERS 15-16 MARK 6:1-29

Follow God's Heart

Prov. 3 :5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. 6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The world says "follow your heart". The Bible says:

“The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?” (Jeremiah 17:9)

Jesus said, “out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander” (Matthew 15:19)

Our hearts cannot save us. Our hearts lead in the wrong direction. Our hearts are the heart of the problem.

Jesus told us what to do. He did not say, "Don't let your hearts be troubled, but trust your hearts".

Jesus said, 'Don't let your hearts be troubled, you trust God, also trust me, John 14:1.

Again: Psalm 37:4 ►Take delight in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

We cannot have two masters. We either follow the heart of God or we follow our own heart without Jesus, so, hear this:

2 As for you, you were dead in your transgressions and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time, gratifying the cravings of our flesh(our hearts) and following its desires and thoughts, Ephesians 2.

Our life in Christ is about following God's heart, not ours. God's heart is the only heart we can trust with our lives.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for following my heart. This day is Yours-my heart belongs to You. Have mercy, oh God!

Healing and righteous Father.

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
