Flowing Grace

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.

Memory verse: Psalm 90:14

14 Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.

Today's reading:  PSALM 23-25 ACTS 21:18-40

Flowing Grace

I tell people who talk about sharing their testimonies before a company of folks: "If your testimony is over 5 minutes old-it is too old". I mean by that that we cannot run on past grace or past movings of God in our lives because if we are conscious of God, we know He is moving now. We cannot depend on the excitement from past experiences to power current words and actions. God's grace is a moving current(river of living waters, John 7:38) and we cannot do His works unless we are empowered by that current. Sharing of what God has done in our lives is made great and moving to those who hear because His grace is fresh and new always.

Lamentations 3:22 "The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new(translated 'fresh') every morning;..."

In our daily reading today, I read this in the 'Complete Jewish Bible':

Psalm 25:14 "Adonai relates intimately with those who fear him;

He makes them know his covenant."

To 'relate intimately', one has to be present. To be present with God means we must be actively conscious of Him. It is impossible for God to 'relate intimately' with us without our approaching Him in complete humility. This happens in our His secret place He has for each one of us and only happens when we choose to return to Him.

God's very present grace is something we miss much too often. Don't miss this. Every second we spend alone could be an intimate moment with God. Take advantage and don't waste a chance.

Don't you want to know all God has for you?

He wants you to know...

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Hallowed is Your everlasting name. I want to know all You want me to about Your kingdom and Your mercies and Your bread for today. Forgive me for not focusing on You. Lead me away from the sin of self focus.

God of flowing grace and deep thought,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
