Faithfulness

Monday December 19, 2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:

Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).

Readings: JONAH 1-4 REVELATION 10

Gift Number 7-Faithfulness

[From Now until Christmas day is 9 days. I am attempting to look at each of the nine fruit of the Spirit as gifts...

Galatians 5:22-23

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

They will not be the order in which they appear in scripture.]

Faithfulness

We are looking at faithfulness as a gift of God? If you look back in History, the faithful, much of the time, suffer. The people who are the most faithful are the ones who never disappear when they are needed.

We cannot be who the Lord intends without faithfulness. The world around us cannot see who the Lord intends for us to be without faithfulness. Do you hear a problem with this?

We have been given faithfulness with the Holy Spirit-but-it is like anything else in the pantry of our spiritual lives. it sits there in the sack or can and waits to be developed into whatever God says it is good for. WE have to do it. No one else can.

God gives us all the tools and we must learn how to use them. That is why any minister worth his or her salt must encourage faithfulness to God and His word.

We must all sit down and, like a child with a gift, unwrap what God has given us. Then we must 'get good' at using the gift.

There are an estimated 3.9 billion game players in the world today. They play an average of 8.6 hours per week. The calculator says that means that players spend 39 billion hours a year worldwide gaming.

How many hours do you spend weekly seeking God's kingdom and righteousness? Weird question? Yes-because that is what the enemy wants. No, we really can't quantify it. But the scripture says , Matthew 22:37-40, that we are to love God with all our heart, soul, and mind. That must mean every waking moment.

We cannot quantify faithfulness. But only you and our Lord god can know how faithful you are. No other voice can judge how faithful we are.

But it is a gift. I remember getting gifts that I tried to assemble without reading the instructions-aggravating disaster and much wasted time.

God has given us all the written instructions we need. It is a gift, a trust.

1 Corinthians 4:2 ►Now it is required that those who have been given a trust must prove faithful.

Pray and ask God to be found faithful. It takes continuous labor of love....

...because He Loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me my laziness, oh God, have mercy on me. Give me the desire to love You with all I am-every waking minute.

Faithful and patient God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
