2 Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"
Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )
"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"
Today's reading: Ezekiel 16-17 James 3
Expectations
A father wrote a letter to his special needs son on his eighteenth birthday and in that letter he wrote these words:
" You do not worry about tomorrow. You do not hold grudges from past wrongs. You expect your needs will be met today."
What is the purpose of a physically and mentally disabled person? There is so much to learn and that question has endless answers. But learning how we are to live a life in Christ is in this father's statement.
Matthew 6:34 ►"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."
1 Corinthians 13:4 "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs."
Matthew 6:11 ►"Give us today our daily bread."
As some of us are getting older and more debilitated daily, what have we learned from the special needs folks in our world? It's time to start gathering it up and reviewing it because as days get harder, God's glory gets brighter.
God does not intend for us to 'fade away'. God intends for us to do spiritual battle with as much spiritual energy as the Holy Spirit affords us-and that energy-His divine power is endless because His love never fails and He will never leave us.
We do not worry about tomorrow-He has it planned; we keep no record of wrongs suffered at the hands of others because we are praying for their souls; we know God will provide because He is our God and He always has.
Live it-learn more-teach it.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Your heart holds love for all. Your kingdom is home. Thank you for Your bread ofr me today. Forgive me for feeling sorry for myself. Lead me away from self-pity.
Lord of absolutely all,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
