Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  Lamentations 3:22-23

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

    his mercies never come to an end;

23 they are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.


Memory verse: Philippians 4:8 ►Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Today's reading: AMOS 1-3 REVELATION 6


Every Morning

 Lamentations 3:22-23

22 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases;

    his mercies never come to an end;

23 they are new every morning;

    great is your faithfulness.


A child writes a letter to Santa and waits with great excitement and sure enough the present is received on the big day and the play is on-until the new wears off.

We are all like this in many ways.  A tradesman reads and studies a new tool on the market until he finds the right time and the funds and then gets the new tool and it performs the way it is supposed to but then on down the road after much repeated use, the tool has to be replaced or repaired.

God is compassionately kind and forgiving and this never changes. In Christ, we are forgiven and God chooses to never think again of a sin confessed by any of us.

These are the mercies of which Lamentations 3:23 speaks of as being 'new' every morning.      

The reality is that God never sleeps and morning is a concept in our reality where we must realize that God never sleeps and never changes. The 'new every morning' part means that we realize every waking morning that God is constant. It is our consciousness of God's infinite mercies that must be renewed everyday.

So wake up and see that God's mercy-His love-His forgiveness is the divine constant in our changing lives.

The Lord restores our souls everyday-if we seek His restoration-if we go to Him and acknowledge His Lordship.

God's mercies for us 'never get old'-never run low-are always present. It is for us to say 'they are new' as God restores and renews us as we humble ourselves before His throne.


Return to Him...

...because He loves us...


Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for not seeking a new morning in You. On this new day, restore my soul. I surrender all I have.
