Even So...

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, open my heart and mind, Holy Spirit. Fill my consciousness and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and

just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day: Ephesians 4:29 “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what Is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”

Today’s reading: Ecclesiastes 4-6 2 Corinthians 12

Even So…

Luke 17:5-The apostles asked Jesus, “Increase our faith”

Luke 11:1- “Lord, Teach us to pray”(One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When He had finished, one apostle asked Him…)

In all honesty, I have to confess that my struggles with sin and ,well, life in general stems from my weak desires.

So, I look at what the apostles did and realize that the basic key to having deeper desire for God in Christ is to take this weakness to my Lord.

Ask Jesus. Confess your weak desires.

Lord Jesus, teach me to pray. I don’t want to waste words-I want to talk to You and listen. Increase my weak faith.

What did the apostles do day to day? They walked with Jesus. At first, they were probably like we would be-afraid to act like ourselves. We have to put on our best face for Jesus. But they were with Him day and night and this familiarity would in time wear through the false faces and they would learn that Jesus knew all about them and they could not be anyone but who they really were while with Christ.

Be certain

It was recorded that Jesus was in a ‘certain’ place as He prayed. Yes, the place where Jesus prayed was ‘certain’. Seek God’s face-especially when you don’t feel like it. When we are weak, He is strong.(2 Corinthians 12:10)

Be deliberate

Everything Jesus did was deliberate-it did not just happen. It was all in God’s plan, step by step. We must follow the Holy Spirit’s lead.

Pray for the Lord to come. Why? Praying with anticipation increases current awareness that no matter what the world does, Jesus is coming back-praying for it keeps it on our minds.

Revelation 22:20, “Even so, come Lord Jesus”.

...because He loves you and because He said He would, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Teach me to worship You as I should and honor Your kingdom. Give me desire to use what You give me for today for Your glory. Thank you for Your life in me. Lead me away from evil.

My friend of glory,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
