Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Ephesians 5:19-20

19 “Speak to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord. 20 Always give thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

Today’s reading: Jeremiah 6-8 1 Timothy 5

Eternity Hangs in The Balance

I read an article from a pastor’s wife where she told of growing up in church as a ‘church kid’. She went through all of her school doing the ‘right’ things-going on mission trips and working around church but could not shake the feeling that something was missing. At some point she did not feel as if her sin was really bad enough for someone to die for. She said her life was like a collage of ‘Jesus-y’ stuff painted over an unsaved soul. I thought of this scripture:

Matthew 23:27-28

27 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean. 28 In the same way, on the outside you appear to people as righteous but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.”

The lady said that nothing was better than realizing that her savior died for her soul. She became a believer-as a pastor’s wife. She said she had to swallow her pride-but nothing was better-nothing was more important to her than Christ.

I write this today for any of you who may have gone through similar circumstances. All of us have doubts-but-if Jesus is not the most important thing to you in your soul, then it is time to face God with the way you feel.

Don’t follow your own heart...follow His.

Lay your heart out in front of God and give Him everything-if you have not.

...because He loves you...He will not let you go…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all. I want to know Your kingdom. Give me today what You want me to have. Forgive me for not concentrating on You. Lead me away from evil.

Loving Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen

ree
