Don't Be Speechless

Friday, February 14, 2025

Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-Your peace-Your knowledge and discernment. Build my trust. I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 139:23–24 (ESV)

23  Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! 24  And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!

Verse of the Day: John 13:34–35

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”

Don’t Be Speechless

Psalm 39:12

“Hear my prayer, O LORD, and give ear to my cry; hold not your peace at my tears! For I am a sojourner with you, a guest, like all my fathers. “

This verse caught my eye and I could not leave it and so I looked and dug until God showed me why He made it jump up at me.

The two clauses: ...”give ear to my cry” and “hold not your peace at my tears”.

What this actually means is don’t be deaf, speechless, and blind to my cries of trouble.

First, we should hear in this that we can say anything to God that is from a humble and God-seeking heart.

The Psalmist cries out, “See me, hear me, speak to me in my desperation!”. Our God, source of all grace, knows how desperate we can be at times but always wants us to be truthful and free with in our cries to Him because he always hears the cries of His children.

“17 When the righteous cry for help, the LORD hears and delivers them out of all their troubles. 18 The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” Psalm 34:17-18

The next thing might not be so obvious and this is what God wanted me to hear from Him to me (and us).

God says to us-the Holy Spirit says to us:

“Don’t be deaf and speechless and blind to Me my child, see me-speak to me-hear me.”

In our prayer times and,yes in our conscious lives, we must:

> see God-be still and know He is God(Psalm 46:10)

> Jesus said,”When you pray”(Matthew 6:5-15); Paul said to pray without stopping(1 Thessalonians 5:16)

>Listen to Him-(I know this following verse is part of a great account but alone, it is beautiful to me.)

Daniel 10:9“But I heard the sound of his words; and as soon as I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep on my face, with my face to the ground.”

After we have cried out to God for ourselves and for others, it is so precious to be still before the only God who loves us completely.

...because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

Your name holds us all along with all creation. Fill me with desire for kingdom obedience. Thank you for Your bread for me today. Forgive me my laziness. Lead me away from worldly desires.

Faithful and joyful God,

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
