Do We See It

Monday, February 5, 2024

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:   Who, then, are those who fear the LORD? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose. Psalm 25:12

Memory verse: Romans 8:32 ►He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

Today's reading: EXODUS 36-38 MATTHEW 23:1-22

Do We See It?

Do we see our guilt anymore? How have things in this world gotten to the point where sin is no longer admitted?

Jeremiah 9:2.....a crowd of faithless people. 3“They bend their tongues like bows; lies prevail over truth in the land. For they proceed from evil to evil, and they do not take Me into account,” declares the LORD.

Faithless people who travel from evil to evil and who have left God out-does that sound like our country?

The danger for the believer in this 'faithless people' is that we see it so much that we become numbed to it. Things that were once shocking are now accepted in daily life.

We have the truth. Lies cannot prevail in the heart that seeks God. Have we left God out? We cannot. The death of Christ on the cross must stand for something-and it does.

Jesus held all the charges of sin in our lives in His hands and allowed nails to be driven through all our sin to attach Him to the tree of death. Our sins died with Him. Our lives rose with Him alive forevermore.

Sin is still filthy in the sight of God. When we continue to seek God, sin does not fade-the reality of God's grace removing the blackness from our hearts by the sacrifice of Christ grows in radiance.

Call it what it is, cling to God, and with Him turn your back on sin as we continue to work in knowing Him and making Him known.

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me, oh God, for allowing my mind to be numbed by this sinful world. I desire Your righteousness.

Awesome and just God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
