Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Matthew 5:11-12
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. 12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Today’s reading: Isaiah 11-13 Ephesians 4
Do This…
Luke 22:19 And He(Jesus) took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me.”
Jesus wants us to never forget what He commanded us. Here He says His body was given for us.
In the Children’s Bible in the previous 17th verse, it reads , “17 After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again from the fruit of the vine until the kingdom of God comes.”
This community of Jesus is all of us, His church. He is telling us to do this as a church body. The church has never been about a building. It is divided among us so we will never be divided.
“I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd” (John 10:14–16).
We have heard Jesus say, “...remember me..know me...listen to me...be of one flock.”
It is time for a gathering together of all the sheep and that starts with us being obedient individually. With all of our differences, it seems impossible. But with God in Christ as our Lord-if we remember Jesus and know Him as He desires and listen to Him as He says, it is really impossible to be anything but one flock.
Pray for the church-the body of Christ to come together like never before as one flock and to send harvesters into the fields.
...because He loves us...He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come and gather us as one flock. Your will for us be done in our hearts. Give us today the desire to welcome all who profess Christ and to bid all others to come to Christ. Forgive me my reluctance. Deliver me from evil.
Father and great shepherd of all,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
