Good morning, Lord

Define Your God?

Everyone has a God-the power or idea that controls the way we live and move and have our being-how we move and think and feel. Can you define yours?

Some will, of course, say that God in Christ is their judge and in my heart I pray that is true. But we must not be about defining our God. That is the problem with natural man. The mind of natural man is lost in sin and needs a way out.

When Jesus was baptized, immediately he went up from the water, and behold, the heavens were opened to him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and coming to rest on him; and behold, a voice from heaven said, “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.” (Matthew 3:16&17)

The way for natural man to be delivered from a life of total sin and ‘lostness’ is to experience Christ-to know that God offers us the love that spoke those words to Jesus-to hear God say about you-you-”This is my child in my Son, Jesus, in whom I am well pleased”.

Before all of creation, was the glory of God’s love and all that love is given by God in Christ to each of us-if we accept God’s truth-if we let God define Himself for us.

In Christ, the only real God, is pleased with us and holds us inside His pure love. In sin, well, is a life of burden and slavery-a life not even defined by our own desire but designed by evil-void of love.

So let go of ‘your own design’. Tell God you want Him to show you all He is so you may truly know Him.

...because He loves us completely...He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is above all else, everywhere-past present and future. I want to experience all of Your kingdom. I want to do Your will. Forgive me for trying to define You. Let me see You in Your wisdom. Lead me away from shallow understanding.

Loving and eternal Father who is pleased with me in Christ,
