Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, load me with desire to seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your insight to righteousness. Hold my attention constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: 1 John 1:8–9

8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the

truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all

unrighteousness.

Verse of the day- Psalm 138:8

8 “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me.Lord, your mercy endures forever.Do not let go of the works of your hands.”

Today’s reading: Job 14-16 Acts 9:22-43

Deep And Wide

How do we keep up with reading the whole Bible in a year and still dig deeply into God’s word. Well, it takes a lot of working on the issue. The word has to be read and the word has to be studied so the Holy Spirit can have time to speak .

Again, we must remember that every time we ‘hear’ God’s word, we must hear God breathing it(2 Timothy 3:16). I suggest reading the scripture aloud-out loud. That’s one reason I record what I read everyday. More of our senses are involved when we ‘hear’ and not just read silently. We remember more when we hear God speak His word out loud. No, our voice is not God’s-but God breathes life every time His word is read.

The same is true for writing down God’s word. If a passage jumps off the page, the Holy Spirit tells me, “Make a note and come back and dig”. So I make a note and finish my readings and return to my note.

I return to my note. I go to a place on the internet that has an ‘interlinear’ Bible(Bible Hub is my ‘go-to’)-this takes a verse at a time and shows the translation from the Greek or Hebrew. This is amazing. I can know what each word actually said in the original language. The Holy Spirit speaks as He shows you so much of God’s heart in His word.

We need God’s word to become so real to us we cannot imagine a day without it and the Spirit will make it happen if we keep returning over and over.

This is all for God’s glory. God wants us to love His word and give Him glory. He wants us to hear Him speak.

Tell God you want Him to speak to you in His word.

...because H-e loves us, He will do it…

Father in Heaven,

Infinite glory is in Your name and in Your kingdom. Give me the desire to live in Your living Word. Forgive me my lazy attitude. Lead me away from the evil of the world.

Father of living wisdom,

In the name of Christ Jesus my Lord,

Amen
