Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Hebrews 12:1 (New King James Version) Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,

Darkness Passes


1 John 2:8 ...because the darkness is passing and the true light is already shining.


It does get dark. People have been looking for Jesus for 2000 years and every time the world looks like it will explode, the darkness passes.


Now, Jesus will return and before He comes back here, it will seem as if the darkness is everywhere. But where is the one place the darkness cannot take over?


Your heart. The scripture tells us to guard our hearts. It is so easy to get weighted down with all the stuff-so stop it. Stop the enemy in his tracks. Take the dark thoughts captive and step up. Put one foot in front of the other and keep praying.


As long as there is a world that loves attention, there will be darkness. The enemy loves attention, so give your attention to the Lord who deserves it. The Lord God has it all planned. So get with the program and listen to what He has next for you in His kingdom.


I know. All this is easy to say. But darkness passes and it will continue to come and go because the King of All says that it will pass. The victory is with the Lord God.


Hope is still there, deep in your heart. Get with God and tell Him you are uncertain and you want to be filled with His hope. Then step up and out and trust Him. All joy is with Him. All hope is in Him. All power is in Him. His eyes are on you and He loves you as much as anyone else in the world.


...because He loves us...


Father in Heaven,

Forgive my fear and timidity. I reach for you now-my hope is in You and You alone. Grow my trust and show me the darkness fading around me.

Great God of power and mercy!
