Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.” 

Verse of the day: Joel 2:23

23 “Be glad, O children of Zion, and rejoice in the Lord your God, for he has given the early rain for your vindication; he has poured down for you abundant rain, the early and the latter rain, as before.”

Cross My Heart

Do you remember this oath-”Cross my heart and hope to die”? It would be really hard to find someone who has not at least heard this. But what does it actually say?

It says, “I would rather die than not speak the truth.” Why do even small children think they must make such promises? They make such promises because they know how easy it is to lie and everyone else knows it, too. After hearing it so often, it was the first sign of a lie-the promise would be broken.

Jesus says for us to let our answer be “Yes” or “No”(Matthew 5:33-37).

1 John 3:18 says, “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with actions and in truth. In 3 John 1:4 it says, “I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth.”

God is the line of righteousness-on His side is the way, the truth, and the life-the other side is defined by what Jesus said in John 8:44,

“Your father, the devil,...a murderer...a liar and the father of lies.”

How can we hop back and forth from one side of God’s line so quickly and easily? Well, when we are so ‘unconscious of God’ it is easy-’unconscious of God’ means no righteously moral

conscience. This is when we revert back to the ‘cross my heart’ child who lies for convenience or comfort or acceptance.

We choose to either be a conscious child of God and speak truth or choose to be the unconscious child of the devil who is the father of lies.

Yes, it is this black or white. “If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth.”(1 John 1:6)

It is a Holy choice that we must be conscious of every waking minute. “God is light; in him there is no darkness at all.”(1 John 1:5)

Tell the truth and live it in Christ. Tell God the truth and ask Him to keep changing your heart for Him.

...because He love you, He will do it...

Father in Heaven,

Your name is all truth and holiness. Your kingdom is truth. Your will is truth. Give me Your deepest desire to live in Your truth today. Forgive me for walking in darkness. Lead me away from wicked lying.
