Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Psalm 119:64

64 Lord, your faithful love fills the earth.

Teach me your laws.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading: Psalm 140-142 1 Corinthians 14:1-20

Blessed-Happy

Romans 4:8 ►'Blessed' is the one whose sin the Lord will never count against them.”

Blessed is a word we read over and over in the Bible and I saw a word study on it and we need to hear it and learn it.

Paul uses a word that in the greek is 'makarios'(blessed). The root word is 'makar' which means 'happy' or greatly satisfied.

Romans 4:8 gives us an image of a person running from the coutroom jumping for joy because he has been judged innocent of very serious crimes. Blessed is the one or 'happy' is the one.

In the sermon on the mount, Jesus says, for example, "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God". This 'blessed' word comes from the same Greek root, 'makar' or happy.

In Matthew 5:3-11, Jesus uses this word 9 times in what many call the 'Beatitudes'. What Jesus says 'happy' are those pure in heart, the meek the merciful, etc-Then in verse 12 he says:

12 "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven..."

All this today is so when we read 1 Timothy 1:11:

"...that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the 'blessed' God, which he entrusted to me."

This is the same word 'blessed' Jesus used in Matthew 5-same root-'makar'-happy. You may not be comfortable with using the word 'happy' for God. So use extremely satisfied. But know this is our God.

The 'gospel' we embrace is the good news of our extremely or supremely satisfied God and we are, by Romans 8:29, being conformed into the image of Jesus.

This is for you who are unhappy with the way your life is. Know that your satisfied God wants you to know this satisfaction or happiness and if you submit to Him in all your ways, the Lord God will fill you with His happiness. This is not a happiness that the world understands. It is divine peace and satisfaction that the world cannot steal.

Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.

Remember at night to pray:

Psalm 90:14 "Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days."

This is the reality of God's kingdom and Gods' people.

"Seek first God's kingdom..."

...because He loves us...

My Father in Heaven,

Your name is precious-make it even more precious to me. Let me learn Your satisfaction and happenss in my deepest place. I crave Your bread for life, today. Forgive me my false idols. Lead me away from evil and lead me on Your righteous path.

Amazingly glorious Friend,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
