Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Today's reading: PSALM 49-50 ROMANS 1 Black and White It seems they lay in wait just trying to start an argument about things like gender choice, etc., especially with folks who are vocal about their faith. Many folks despise confrontation and run from it. I, personally do not like arguing because arguments are about winning and losing-competition-(through the front gate of hell-I'm guessing the first door on the left) So, I tell everyone who asks that I am a 'First Chapter of Romans Guy'. "Go read it; God wrote; I will not remove it because someone hates discipline(Psalm 51:17)" If you take one word out, along with losing any share in the Lord's tree of life (Revelation 22:19), you call the entire Bible a lie. Not in my house, no apologies, none needed, God's word is alive(Hebrews 4:12), argue with Him, if you want. Warning: Do not read the whole first chapter of Romans and come to verses 28 through 32 and think for a moment that we have the right to come down on any one of any of these people with hate and judgement. Matthew 7:1-3 "Do not judge, or you too will be judged. For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? You will be judged by the world for your 'ignorance' and your 'archaic beliefs' but the world hated Jesus first(John 15:18), so, walk on in humility and love and in God's peace. Ephesians 6:13 Therefore take up the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you will be able to stand your ground, and having done everything, to stand. 14Stand firm then, OK. It is hard to hear what the world says about your faith. So, as you take up your cross on this day, know better who God says you are to Him. God did not just say it just once. He speaks this truth all the time. You are His. Nothing the world says can ever change that. Romans 8:31-39 31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. 35 Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? 36 (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” 37 No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. 38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. Know the Word, stand on it, or fall for anything. Jesus has given us the truth paid for in His own blood. ...because he loves us... Father in Heaven, Forgive me for watering down my faith with worldly influence. I set my face like flint-my mind and heart set on You. Here I stand. Mighty God of all strength and victory and mercy!
