Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: 2 Timothy 2:15 Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.
Today's reading: ECCLESIASTES 4-6 2 CORINTHIANS 12
Between the Rains
So often rain has been associated with pain in our world. In the Bible rain is a blessing.
Our verse of the day from Joel speaks of former and latter rain and mentions the 'first month'. The former rain is said to fall in October after crops are sown. This gets the crop up out of the ground and through the winter months. The latter rain falls in March and matures the crop for harvest.
The message for us right now is that God will follow through and finish His work in us. In all the pain we go through, He will deliver our souls. In all the good things in life, He will deliver our souls. He delivers us through the rain and the times between the rains...
Jesus was there in the beginning, John 1; Jesus came as the Messiah and defeated death and provided salvation; our souls have been delivered.
Hope will never die in the reality of Jesus Christ.
When we lose folks we love, it is hard. We cannot get around it. We cannot ignore it. So we must get under it and carry it. God has a plan for us after loss like this. We must learn to carry it-as heavy as that sounds-carry it until it is no longer heavy. The pain and pressure is turned to peace and power from step to step-heartbeat to heartbeat. Sometimes it feels like walking in deep mud-but mud dries up between the rains...
Cling to hope-cling to Jesus-the power is there-His love is always there. He will not fail us.
…because He loves us…
Our Father in Heaven,
Your name is above all else. Apart from You, I can do nothing. Give me strength to wait and listen in humility and follow you.
You, alone, are worthy of all my praise, oh great and wonderful God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
