Be Glad

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  2 Timothy 1:13-14

13 What you heard me teach is an example of what you should teach. Follow that model of right teaching with the faith and love we have in Christ Jesus. 14 This teaching is a treasure that you have been trusted with. Protect it with the help of the Holy Spirit, who lives inside us.

Memory verse: Psalm 42:2(New American Bible )

"My soul thirsts for God, the living God. When can I enter and see the face of God?"

Today's reading:   Psalm 146-147 1 Corinthians 15:1-28

Not Proud, But Glad

Ephesians 1:4 "...just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. In love..."

Romans 8:29 "Those whom God had already chosen he also set apart to become like his Son, so that the Son would be the first among many believers."

1 Peter 2:9 ►"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light."

From the egocentric point of view, we have the right to be proud because of what we have from God. This is not just a 'big deal' but the biggest-it is eternal-and God has chosen us.

But we are not chosen because we look better or think better or because we are richer or wiser or more beautiful than anyone else. We are not chosen because of the color of our skin or what family name we bear.

We were chosen by God before the world saw any of us and before the world had any effect on us-before any of us had made any of our bad choices. He knew everything that we would be prone to do and prone to deny and hide.

God knew what we would be like before any of this and chose us unconditionally.

It is because of God's grace-His love and salvation that we do not deserve.

Ephesians 2:8-9- For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9 not by works, so that no one can boast.

Not by self-worth that is established by our performance were we saved, but by grace and faith(divine trust) that were gifted to us by all mighty God by choice.

Be glad-be thankful-humbled by the reality of the condition of our souls before we employed the trust God gave us in Christ Jesus and overwhelmed by the purity that He now sees in us in Christ Jesus.

Be glad.

"Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones;

And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart." Psalm 32:11

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

The great glory in Your name, let me grasp it! Give me gladness as I seek Your kingdom. Forgive me for my pride. I ask for Your bread to obey today. You are all. Lead me away from evil pride.

Endlessly giving God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
