Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Hebrews 10:35-36

35 “Therefore do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. 36 For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.”

Today’s reading: Isaiah 34-36 Colossians 2

Baptize

Matthew 28:19 “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”

On the day of Pentecost, Acts 2, The Holy Spirit spoke through Peter and the followers of Christ Jesus and the response was the crowd feeling a piercing ‘to the heart’. The power of the Holy Spirit went through it all straight to their hearts.

Acts 2:37, “Brothers, what shall we do?”

“Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”

3000 baptisms in one day. But when they got down to the water and approached a servant of Jesus, what did they say. The baptizers wanted to hear evidence of this life change. With the Holy Spirit in their hearts, shouts could be heard of “Jesus Christ is my Lord!” “Jesus has forgiven my sin” “Jesus is King!” and much, much more from 3000 voices. Much celebrating and joy stirred the river that day. This is all my conjecture. But when someone is pierced to the heart and that piercing is eternally healed by our Holy God in Christ, praise in truth happens.

Baptism is not just a ceremony. We do not do it just because it is a command Jesus left us or because a church says we must do it a certain way. We are Baptized because Jesus said for it to happen and He assumed there would be celebration and praise-great joy and great sense of victory.

To be Baptized in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is our first sign to the world that we belong to Jesus and are filled with His Holy Spirit and we now live for Him.

Baptism is a privilege and a blessing; it is our confession of faith in Christ-it is our launching pad-

the starting line of the race...(2 Timothy 4:8)

...Because He loves us…

Father in Heaven,

Your name is all my joy. Your kingdom I want to know more and more as I strive to do Your will. Give me what You know I need for today. Forgive me for rejecting the truth.

Deliver me from evil.

Amazing and endless God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
