Arrows For The Honest

Friday, ‎July ‎15, ‎2022

Good morning, Lord

Verse of the Day: Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.—Hebrews 11:1

Memory verse: Romans 12:1: Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship.

Today's reading: PSALM 13-15 ACTS 19:21-41

Arrows For The Honest

The words and actions of the world against the body of Christ are getting more harsh as the days roll by. The liberal newspapers call us ignorant. Leftist politicians and their minions dig to pick our lives apart to find the slightest error so they can point a finger. Even the leader of our nation has called our conservative governors 'extremists'.

So what can we do? Even the strongest in their faith have trouble with it all at times. If the strong have trouble with all these attacks, what do the rest of us do?

We have to see who and what God says we are. We may not consider ourselves as strong-but-the scripture says we are.

Romans 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.

But don't think this is any worse than it has ever been. Our country was founded by people who were searching for freedom to worship as they pleased-please don't forget this.

Jesus words are recorded: John 15:18 ►

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first."

But long before Christ walked the earth, King David wrote:

Psalm 11:1... I trust in the Lord, so why did you tell me to run and hide?

Why did you say, “Fly like a bird to your mountain?”

2 Like hunters, the wicked hide in the dark.

They get their bows ready and aim their arrows.

They shoot at good, honest people.

3 What would good people do

if the wicked destroyed all that is good?

(The very next statement is most profound, so do not miss it please.)

verse 4 reads: "The Lord is in his holy temple.

The Lord sits on his throne in heaven.

He sees everything that happens.

He watches people closely."

While the Lord watches the wicked and their 'arrows for the honest' do you think He takes His eyes off of you? Never.

Psalm 121:4 "He who guards Israel never rests or sleeps."

Galatians 3:29 ►If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

In athletic competition of any kind, if one player can get into the head(get a leg up psychologically) of his or her opponent, they have won.

The enemy knows this and operates by it.

Jude 1:8 ►In the very same way, on the strength of their dreams these ungodly people pollute their own bodies, reject authority and heap abuse on celestial beings.

The 'strength of their dreams'? The enemy fills the head of those non-believers, because they don't know better than to allow it, with all the un-godly stuff they believe and the arrows they shoot at us. The strength of their dreams is the strength of the devil.

2 Corinthians 10:5 We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

Philippians 4:7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Any time-any thought-any slur-any action that is unholy we must take captive and the peace of God-that cannot be explained-will guard our hearts and minds in Christ.

Prayer, Bible readings and memory work, meditation on God-seeking God's kingdom and His righteousness-the absolute need for all these is paramount. This must be our lives-Jesus-the cornerstone...

Ephesians 6:16 ►In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for fretting and worrying about the junk the enemy's world throws at me. Give me Your strength and the sense to know I have it.

Mighty and great God,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
