Good morning, Lord

Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…

Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)

I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”

Verse of the day: Luke 1:76-78

76 “And you, child, will be called the prophet of the Most High; for you will go before the Lord to prepare his ways, 77 to give knowledge of salvation to his people in the forgiveness of their sins,78 because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high.”

Today’s reading: Jonah 1-4 Revelation 10

Around The World And Here

As we enjoy this Christmas season, I would like for us all to turn our attention to all those who are on mission around the world in the name of Christ. They tell us there are 127,000 folks from our country(USA) who serve somewhere far away from home. I want us to pray for these folks who have given up home for sharing Christ with a lost world. I want us to pray for their families here who also miss them.

Centuries back one man wrote to a missionary and told him the biggest danger to a him was not what someone could do to him but the danger of losing trust in God’s mercy.

This is a call to pray that God awakens our own trust. Complacency has watered down trust in God’s mercy here where we have more than enough. Sharing of the gospel has been left to the ‘hired staff’.

We are all called to be missionaries-the person who reaches the lost with the truth of Christ.

It is time to confess our complacency and pray for wisdom and courage to live openly and courageously for Christ. Christ is the gift to all nations and ours.

...because He loves us, He will do it…

Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come in my heart as it is in Heaven. Awaken my trust in Your infinite mercy today and forgive me my complacency. Lead me away from this evil.

Gracious Lord and gentle Father,

In the name of Christ Jesus,

Amen
