Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day: Galatians 6:2
2 Bear one another’s burdens, and thereby fulfill the law of Christ.
Today’s reading: Jeremiah 1-2 1 Timothy 3
Another’s Burdens
Our verse of the day, Galatians 6:2, tells us to ‘bear’ one another’s burdens and in doing so we will fulfill the law of Christ. So, what is the ‘law of Christ’?
John 15:12-”My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.”
This sounds straightforward and is but I want us to see this from a different angle. If I don’t know what your burden is, how can I help you bear it? If you are so private that you hide your burden, how can I carry it?
Galatians 5:13 “You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free. But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh; rather, serve one another humbly in love.”
This is a two-way street. If you and I are both striving to walk by the Spirit, we can help bear one another’s burdens because we confide in each other. But if I keep my pain to myself-which I believe is sin of the flesh, we cannot communicate on the level of love Jesus intended. I must humbly approach you and share with you my pain.
This can get sticky. How do I know I can trust someone? This is where fellowship with the family comes in. This is where we pray together and know each other well enough to trust. If I share your burden, it means I love you enough to not share it with anyone else. Whatever your burden is, they cannot hear it from me-only you.
If I know your burden and you know mine, we both talk to God about it-over and over as long it takes-we love each other as Christ has loved us-in His strength.
The Body of Christ is a precious thing and this is where we find security in His divine love with each other.
So, we must pray to be delivered from letting our sinful flesh ruin our fellowship. This takes a lot of prayer in the Spirit. The Lord desires for us to follow His command and love and share in each other’s lives in the Spirit.
Pray with folks. Get to know them on the Lord’s level. Tell Him you want to love as He commands.
...because He loves us, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Help me to hallow Your name and seek Your kingdom wisdom and obedience. Give me today what I need to live for You. Forgive me for not loving as I should. Lead me away from evil thinking.
Father of Spirit Freedom,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
