Always Light

Good morning, Lord
Verse of the Day: John 16:33
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Memory verse: “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9).
Readings: ZECHARIAH 13-14 REVELATION 21
There Is Always Light
When the days are gray-that is, when things are literally looking gray-when we look out the window and see nothing but clouds-this can be emotionally oppressing if we allow it.
I'll never forget the first time I looked out from the window of an airplane to see the sun shining on the top of the clouds and how amazing it looks.
We are not guaranteed the next days or even hours-but-we know what is right now in this moment. We know that because we can still look out the window and see that the world is still here. We know that even though the clouds are thick and solid that the sun still shines on top-or we would have ceased to be.
What is this all about? It is the winter and it is cold and some lose hope under some of these conditions, so, it is our job-those of us who hold such a great hope-to encourage as much as we are able.
The old song says:
"There is sunshine in my soul today,
More glorious and bright,
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my light...
There is sunshine, blessed sunshine..."
Revelation 21: 22 "And I saw no temple in the city, for its temple is the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb. 23 And the city has no need of sun or moon to shine on it, for the glory of God gives it light, and its lamp is the Lamb."
Yes, this verse is a vision given to John, but we have to know that only our physical bodies need the sun and moon. Nothing of this earth is our eternal hope. Our eternal life is now and forever in Christ Jesus and He is our sun and moon-He is our light-the only light we need.
We must reach always up and seek His light and life. Another reason, this is, for meeting with the Lord on a regular basis. Building good worship habits is far more important than good physical routines.
John 6:63 ►The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you--they are full of the Spirit and life.
We have many promises in scripture but one, in particular, comes to mind:
Acts 3:19 Repent, then, and turn back, so that your sins may be wiped away, 20 that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that He may send Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you.
I can only speak for me. When I am alone and close my eyes and look to the Lord-as bad as things may get at times-His peace is always real and His mercies new. It is not always what some think a 'mountain top' experience. But who needs a mountain when our God who loves us, shines light on top of the clouds-when the clouds are gone and the mountains level-our God is always the same-He always loves us and has a plan for our eternal future.
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
Forgive me for looking only at the trouble. Help me to see You always-in everything.
Great God who is always my light!
In the name of Jesus,
Amen
