Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Psalm 27:13-14 (NIV)
“I remain confident of this, I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.”
Verse of the day: 1 Peter 3:18
18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,
Today’s reading: Lamentations 3-5 Hebrews 10:19-39
A Terrifying Place
The children of Israel saw God part the red sea and destroy the army that pursued them. But then came the reality of the wilderness in which they traveled.
Numbers 11:5–6 (ESV)
5 “We remember the fish we ate in Egypt that cost nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic. 6 But now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.”
This place should be terrifying for anyone. Anyone who has given their heart to Jesus who does not commit to good spiritual discipline based on Biblical principles and gets to a place where they miss the thrills of the world.
If we do not commit to God’s discipline, we open the door for all of the enemy’s tricks through doubt and temptation. Doubt and temptation hit us all and it takes a disciplined mind to reject them. But the undisciplined mind does not know how to reject the ‘darts of the enemy’. They do not know how to pray on the armor of God.
Where are you? Are you praying daily for God to ‘increase your faith’ or are you longing for ‘old thrills’ or looking for new ones?
If you are in Christ, you have had God part the ‘Red Sea’ for you and God has given you His power over the enemy. You are washed in the blood of Christ and have the Holy spirit within you.
“To whom did [God] swear that they would not enter his rest, but to those who were disobedient? So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.” (Hebrews 3:18–19)
Do you believe or not? All of us have sin in our lives and will until we die but we don’t have to live there. Wage war on sin and dive into discipline. Get busy. Find out what God’s rest means in your life. Tell God how you feel.
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Hallowed be Your name-Lord of Heaven’s armies. Your kingdom come in my heart with great desire for obedience. Give me what You want me to have for today. Forgive me for looking back with desire. Deliver me from evil.
Precious and loving God,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
