A Real Prayer

A Real Prayer
For all that we see going on in this world and our country-how should we pray? What do we really need?
I contend that we pray not for revival but for conviction. For the lost as well as the saved. The problems of our world are the problems of 'Adam's tragic race'--actually one problem only-sin.
People who are saved have the mission from Jesus to reach the world-to know Him and make Him known-to keep the main thing the main thing. The question is for each of us: How far are we from this mission?
Our(the church of Jesus Christ) sin is of not humbling ourselves under God's hand and obeying. So where is the Holy Spirit's conviction in our lives? Are we not listening? If we hear Him, why are we not responding?
Romans 10:13,14 says, "13 because as Scripture says, “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.How can people invoke His name when they do not believe? How can they believe in Him when they have not heard? How can they hear if there is no one proclaiming Him?15 How can some give voice to the truth if they are not sent by God?"
How can we be sent if we are not listening and how can we listen if our attention is not on God's heart-if we ignore the urging of the Holy Spirit? We must pray-really pray for our own hearts to be totally humbled before God and then move at His bidding.
The tragedy of race-the rejection of God's truth-there is only one answer. The acceptance of God's truth in Christ Jesus one heart at a time is the only answer. So, when our hearts are clean before God, we must pray for the Holy Spirit to fall in His eternal way across our world on our lost brothers and sisters that they will see the evil in their lives up against God's undeniable holiness. Pray that the lost have encounters with God that they must recognize and admit come from God. Pray that as they feel the conviction, or revealing of their sins for what they are by the Spirit of God, that righteous folks are in place to proclaim freedom in the name of Christ Jesus.
How can we pray for our country? Pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit to be felt from one end to the other. Pray that we are listening and obedient. God will handle it all if we are obedient.
Psalm 126:5-6
5 Those who walk the fields to sow, casting their seed in tears,
will one day tread those same long rows, amazed by what’s appeared.
6 Those who weep as they walk
and plant with sighs
Will return singing with joy,
when they bring home the harvest.
Where is the 'loving of our neighbor as ourselves'? Where are our tears for the lost of our world?
...because He loves us...
Father in Heaven,
My sin is always before me, have mercy on me and forgive. I want to hear, listen, and move at Your word. Oh, great God, give me tears for the lost.
God of endless mercy,
