Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Jeremiah 15:19 ESV
Therefore thus says the Lord: “If you return, I will restore you, and you shall stand before me. If you utter what is precious, and not what is worthless, you shall be as my mouth. They shall turn to you, but you shall not turn to them.”
Verse of the day: Psalm 16:8
8 “I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.”
Daily reading: Psalm 105, 106; 1 Corinthians 3
A Good Tree Produces Good Fruit
From our place in God’s heart and kingdom, Jesus says that a good tree will bear good fruit-must bear good fruit.
Matthew 7:17-20-17 “A good tree produces good fruit, and a bad tree produces bad fruit. 18 A good tree can’t produce bad fruit, and a bad tree can’t produce good fruit. 19 So every tree that does not produce good fruit is chopped down and thrown into the fire. 20 Yes, just as you can identify a tree by its fruit, so you can identify people by their actions.”
Here are 7 reasons we know God will provide for our ‘produce’(what is produced by our place in God’s heart).
1. John 10:28, 29-Nothing can snatch us out of the hands of the Father and the Son.
2. John 14:16-26-The Spirit of Truth is with us and in us and will teach us all we need to know-everything Jesus has said.
This is where a good tree abides.
3. We will always bear fruit while we trust His presence.
Matthew 28:20- “...and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Fear not, I am here...)
4. With the strength that Jesus prays into us, we will keep returning and strengthen the body around us with what we learn(Luke 22:32). He prayed that we are in unity and protected from the evil one(John 17:11, 15).
5. Jesus knows our nature-that we will sin and tells us how to pray to return-that we will have a hard time forgiving-and tells us how to pray.(He tells us how to pray to take on His nature)
6. Matthew 19:26- Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” (Jesus teaches that when the impossible arises, our first reaction is to depend on God and keep going).
7. Evidence in our lives-good fruit even though we are flawed.
Remember Jeremiah 15:19- “If you return-I will restore you and you shall stand before me...”
“Very truly I tell you, whoever believes in me will do the works I have been doing, and they will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” John 14:12
Our place with God in His heart is proven by how we are led to do good works.
Talk to God about where you are and what you could or should do for His glory.
...because He loves you, He will do it...
Father in Heaven,
Your name is my strength and my restoration. I seek Your kingdom. Fill me with desire to obey You today. Forgive me fruitless will. Lead me away from emptiness.
Father of all good fruit,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
