A Full Mind

Saturday, ‎July ‎31, ‎2021

Good Morning, Lord

Verse of the Day:  But the Lord said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." —1 Samuel 16:7

Memory of the month:  Matthew 5:6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be  satisfied.

Today's reading: PSALM 54-56 ROMANS 3

Mind-ful

Mindful-the quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.

Mindless-acting or done without justification or concern for the consequences.

Being mindful with great purpose can bring great change in this world. It can. It could bring great change if the hearts were full of love and God's peace. Instead, what we observe is what seems to be mindless hoards with no purpose.

Either way, mindless or mindful, without God-both are lost ways.

With God at the heart-with God in the heart and then being 'mindful' of Him,  brings peace. Prayerful attention is a prayer concern for all of us. To cultivate an existence consumed with the mind of Christ should be part of our daily prayers.

We have the Holy Spirit.

Acts 2

38 “Repent,” Peter said to them, “and be baptized, each of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

We have the mind of Christ. 1 Corinthians 2

16 for, “Who has known the mind of the Lord

so as to instruct him?” But we have the mind of Christ.

What we see as 'mindless' acts on our streets are anything but that. There is a mind behind it. Anytime we see destruction in anger and chaos there is definitely a mind behind it. It is the enemy engaging his purpose.

1 PETER 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

Being 'mindful' is another way of saying be sober and vigilant. If we are doing God's will we are mindful of Him. We are following the leadership of the Holy Spirit in His wisdom and love. If we sin, we are not mindless. We have consciously chosen to be out of God's control when we sin.

Romans 14:23 ►...and everything that does not come from faith is sin.

Is the 'left' mindless? No. Am I mindless when I judge them instead of love them? No. All of this is sin.

Pray for a mind 'full'. Pray for your own heart and mind to be full of the mind of Christ. Will you pray this, please? Will you pray for the hearts and minds of those who have chosen to do the enemy's bidding and who despise all that you believe? Will you?

If we do not pray for them in love, we are right there with them-casting stones in hate.

God has given us the sense to get out of the rain. He has also given us the wisdom of the ages and all the love He is. Where do we get the audacity to argue with this? But, we do.

Stop. 1 John 1:9, NIV: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

...because He loves us...

Father in Heaven,

Forgive me for going against your will. I want to be full of You all the time.

God of loving all,

In the name of Jesus,

Amen
