Good morning, Lord
Father in Heaven, I seek You first-the knowledge of Your kingdom and Your righteousness. Fill my consciousness constantly and complete Your joy in me as I take up my cross and follow...In Jesus' name…
Memory verse: Joshua 1:9
9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Verses of the day-2 Corinthians 5:14-15
14 “For the love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: that one has died for all, therefore all have died; 15 and he died for all, that those who live might no longer live for themselves but for him who for their sake died and was raised.”
Today’s reading: 1 Samuel 1-3 Luke 8:26-56
A Deeper Place
It is time for us all to seek more deeply the reality of the resurrection of Christ. What do I mean by that? The Lord has for all of us His reality. The reality of walking in the ‘cool of the day’…
Genesis 3:8 “Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God as he was walking in the garden in the cool of the day, and they hid from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.”
These people lived with God-physically lived with God. Like a loving parent who looks for His children who are out playing in the woods behind their home, God was walking in the cool of the day.
But they had sinned and as much as God loved His creation, His children, He had to send them away from His presence. That is how black sin is to Him.
He wanted them back-He sent His only begotten son to die to erase their sins and then raised Jesus from the dead. This shows us how desperately God wanted us back from the effects of sin.
But, our attention span is governed by our desire. We see the world around us and watch it on TV and read about it and we desire it.
If we only knew the pleasures, the deep pleasures…
Psalm 16:11 You make known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
‘You have made known to me’ implies that ‘I’ was paying attention and wanted it. I will never learn anything in this life worth knowing unless I apply myself and listen with my heart as well as my head.
As God teaches us His ‘paths of life’ and He sees our hearts of desire, He makes known to us His joys and pleasures. This is resurrection celebration.
The Holy Spirit takes us to a deeper place. But Jesus never goes into a heart uninvited. His Spirit must see our desire.
“Cast your bread upon the water...and it will return...”(Ecclesiastes 11:1)
...because He loves you, He will do it…
Father in Heaven,
Holy, Holy, Holy is our Lord God almighty. I want to know Your kingdom. Give me today what You say I need. Forgive me for being so lazy with my seeking you. Lead me away from the dark ways of the world.
Father of rebirth,
In the name of Christ Jesus,
Amen
