In All Things

Wednesday, ‎August ‎12, ‎2020 Good morning, Lord V.O.D.: But we have renounced the hidden things of shame, not walking in craftiness and handling the word of God deceitfully, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.—2 Corinthians 4:2 M.O.M.: Psalm 27:13 I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Today's reading: PSALM 87-88 ROMANS 13

In All Things

1 John 5:5 Who is the one who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

This scripture is meant for us, individually. We are faced with the temptations of the world each day, all day long, and we must face each challenge in the power of the Holy Spirit. Again, this is not automatic. This connection to God's heart and the mind of Christ comes with persistent practice.

Paul says, in Romans 12, to not let the world push you down into its mold. So, overcoming is not to conform to the pressure of the world. Romans 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is;

God intends to transform us step by step. With each choice to say 'no' to the world's pressure our minds are transformed and the character of Christ Jesus is seen in us and is a display of the will of God to the world. Constant renewal is God's will for each of us.

To overcome the world is not to be overcome by the constant battle. Soldiers tell us that in the heat of the battle the only one that matters is the one next to them. They fight for each other at that point. God is right next to each of us. He is in the middle of the battle and fights for us. We must keep our eyes on Him-our hearts trained on His love-not on the attack of the world.

2 Chronicles 20:15 ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army, for the battle does not belong to you, but to God.

The real overcomer trusts God in all things to be the overcomer. This means that the desire to love God and to seek His kingdom is our greatest-always.

...because He loves us... Father in Heaven, Forgive me for getting caught up in the battle and losing my focus. Strengthen my resolve to trust You and keep You first. Great God of power and might! In the name of Jesus, Amen
